Energy Drinks and Health Not Guilty

Extra, Extra, read all about it…”Energy Drinks and Health Innocent of Harm”; screams 12 year old Todd who is selling blog posts at a university.  In shock and amazement, Carmen my college sweetheart turns to me as says, “Innocent, why I’ve never heard a kind word ever said about energy drinks and health, how could this be?”   I’ll tell you what honey, times have changed.

You see there has been a long term trial against energy drinks and health, where many prosecutors have presented evidence stating the negative flaws to energy drinks.  Most of their evidence has pointed to childern consuming energy drinks.  They start off by giving you all the ingredients so you know the background of the drinks.  Then the prosecution focuses on one key ingredient which is caffeine. Are you following me so far honey? Carmen nodds in agreement completely silent from concentrating on listening to my words.

So they go through a series of questioning on the subject of caffeine to insert ideas in the minds of the jury who is consuming energy drinks themselves for different purposes.  Some of the jurors are athletes.  They train at a high level for sporting events depending on what they specialize in.  Now the athletes are concerned that they might be sensitive to energy drinks and it may affect their performance. So what’s the solution for them?

The Defense presents a question to the jury: Imagine if there was a energy drink that didn’t contain any caffeine but gave you a boost of energy from B-Vitamins?  Carmen, I was stunned when I got to this part.  Carmen says, “I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a energy drink without caffeine that still gives you energy, sounds interesting”.  Well you have heard of one now.

I noticed as I was reading, the writer highlighted in bold letters some of the jurors who were businesspeople. From what I understand about this group of people is that they do most of their job either on the road or in the air going to different cities every week. Their biggest concern is how tired they are between trips and fighting to keep their energy at a performance level. Many times from what it says in the minutes, they try to eat on the run, when ever they have some spare time to fill. Carmen says, “Is that the only thing to keep them alert and going?

No hun, they also consume alot of coffee. Now I can see, there should be some concern there. Because one cup of coffee is the amount of caffeine in one 8 oz can of an energy drink.  The businesspeople are consuming multiple large cups of coffee during their trip.  What’s the solution for them?  So the defense asked the jury, “Imagine only needing to drink one to two energy drinks a day to get the desired energy boost that you need?”  And we’re not even going to talk about the costs.

So, the prosecution had their backs in the corner and was looking to come out swinging. Then they pulled the card of all cards and said “Their is a big problem with energy drinks and health in the classroom.” Oh boy, that had everyone’s attention now, Carmen. They even brought to the stand teachers who expressed that there is lack of focus when students drink energy drinks. They said they are jittery after they consume them, then they become real hyper and eventually they crash hard and fall asleep. What solution can help the students?

The defense, quickly responded with a couple of key facts about the human body. The body is designed to fall asleep twice a day. The first time is when it’s night time to sleep through the night into morning. The second time is between the hours of 1pm and 3pm or 1pm and 4pm, depending on the person. And the purpose of this time is to take a nap. So if the percentage is high in the early afternoon where the body falls asleep, it doesn’t come from energy drinks alone. The second key fact about the human body is that the moment you sit down Carmen, your body shuts down. Think about it, as a student your sitting in a class for over and hour, alot of times 2 to 3 hours, what else is your body to do but shut down, because it is designed to that.

I tell what honey, the whole courtroom was stunned. The prosecution looked at the judge and said “The prosecution rests”, then the case was dismissed and the trial was over. Energy Drinks and Health was innocent and now is connecting people to healthier choices to keep their energy up throughout the day without the crash that comes from a sugar high.  With excitement and joy Carmen screams, “Yes” now I want one of these energy drinks.  How can I get more information?  Ah, they have a link here in the paper to get more information about some little to no caffeine, no sugar, low carbs, and low calorie energy drinks.
It says click here for energy drinks. Energy Drinks and Health go hand and hand, get connected.
