Energy Drinks and Health - Ice Please Energy Drinks and Health – The Revolution, Ice please Part 1 … Imagine this story.
The day was early from proof of the melodies that sang in the trees. The time was dawn by the frosty dew; covers the grass like a blanket. The wind was sharp to the bite, the lilies entertaining their dance. The ground vibrates from the millions and millions that march to a unified beat. Formations of lines stand straight, determined eyes gaze on their leader as he walks in front of them.

You can hear trumpets sound and epic music is playing as he prepares to speak. Their leader has just returned from battle, where his body feels like he has been sucked dry, with bandages on his left arm.  He stands before them fearless, confident in his ability.  But what they don’t know is on the inside, the pain is at a high level.

Then someone screams, “The Revolution is at hand.”  Then the music stops, their leader looks up and takes a deep breath.  Total silence fills the camp, all you can hear is the wind cut like a dagger.  Then the leader says:  Athletes, businesspersons, gamers, students, moms, and anyone who is flat-out busy, or on the go, prepare yourselves.

For many, many years, we have been consuming sugar-filled drinks with lots of caffeine to make it through the day. We’ve drank so much that some of us have fallen to dehydration, bad headaches, hyper episodes then we crash and burn. We have even felt like our hearts were going to explode from the effects of these drinks.

The camp goes into an up roar of excitement.  Waving his arms for the army to quiet down, the leader continues his speech.

I use to be caught up in the 20oz bottle, an addict of the sugar cane in the different flavors I could choose from. Instead of just one bottle to satisfy me, moderation was another language that I never could figure out.  Ask me to concentrate, and I didn’t understand the question.  My attention was fully given to fighting back sleep, as it influenced my mind to tell my body to shut down.  I’m in the middle of 3 hour classes;  I was only present at roll call and the 1st 20 minutes of class.  The remaining 2 hours and 40 minutes was spent in dreamland, trying not to fall out my chair.

At this time the camp is following along as if the teacher were giving a lecture in a college class. But in many of their hands, entrepreneurs were holding energy drinks; all different flavors.  The flavors range from cran-grape, wild berry, citrus, tropical, cherry, lemon, peach tea, cola, black-cherry.

Then the leader’s wingman steps up to the podium and hands an energy drink to the leader.  The entire camp went silent as if this was a tradition that was held on a regular basis.  At that moment, it felt like the world was moving in slow motion.  Once the leader took hold of the ice cold energy drink, he opened it and took a drink. It was like poetry in motion; the camp could feel the leader enjoying his energy drink.  It was like their spirits connected, and then the leader said, “Ahhhhhhh, yes…Root beer!!

The camp shouted like they just won a major battle, then next thing I know they had a party.  I’ll never forget the 3 words they were shouting over, and over again… Stay tuned for Part 2.
